Circuito de RLC

The code SIXBIT is very close to the code ASCII  : it is enough to add 32 with the code ASCII letters and figures (or to cut off 32 with the signs and symbols precedent character @) to obtain its equivalent SIXBIT. It codes the letters (only basic capital letters Latin) and the principal symbols and figures on only six bits, which was very practical on the computers 36 bits. It was in particular used on the computers DEC such as the PDP-10, DECsystem-10 and DECsystem-20. SIXBIT allows the coding of 64 signs.

In practice, the absence of any control character and tiny prevents to use it for the coding of complete texts, its use being rather reserved with the simplified keys of research or sorting, or that requires to hold certain characters to represent the missing characters with a special syntax, such as??? \ to code | in Language C (ANSI) or characters of beaconing < > & (in notation SGML, HTML or XML).

Count of characters SIXBIT

The conversion chart is given Ci dessous : For example, the character “9” will be coded by the binary number 011  001 (25)
