The current circuit
Today long, the circuit of Magny Cours 4411 meters takes again the best turns existing in F1, which in fact a very technical and very complete circuit. But it is also why many pilots and of speakers of the automobile sport in general, and F1 in particular, consider that this circuit is without “heart”. In addition, the hotel infrastructures are not with the height and the majority of the spectators are obliged to place itself in Paris to attend the GP of importance. Lastly, these GP involve a road traffic that the surrounding road infrastructures cannot run out, which generates enormous stoppers. All these problems failed to be right of the test of Nievre in 2005, the disaffection of the public having generated quasi a bankruptcy of the structure. The general advice of Nievre nevertheless saved the circuit by refinancing the project. Grand Prix 2007 was held July with Magny-Course, but the Management Committee of the FFSA, joined together on March 21st, 2007, unanimously decided to suspend the inscription of the Grand Prix of France to the calendar 2008, insofar as the conditions of success all were not met. The Management Committee proceeded to a re-examination of the situation at its meeting of July 2007. Various assumptions were evoked to replace Magny-Course, in particular in Ile-de-France, of which surroundings of Eurodisney, Villepinte, the new city of Évry or Versailles. Following an interview between French the Prime Minister Francois Fillon and Bernie Ecclestone the 24 juiilet 2007 in Paris, the Grand Prix of France must be maintained on the circuit of Magny-Course for the seasons 2008 and 2009.
Remarks on the current layout
The original of the baffle “Nürburgring” was modified to facilitate the goings beyond on the German circuit. Only its copy remains with Magny-Course.In Italy, the original of the turn “Imola” always was very criticized and was finally rebuilt with old. It is about the current acque turn of the “ minerali ”, which is become again near to what he was before the modifications made for safety reasons, reasons which with Magny-Course are not obvious. Imola does not form any more part of the championship of the world of F1.
The turn “Estoril” is large “a 180°” which orders, in France as in Portugal, the longest straight line of the circuit. Estoril does not form any more part of the championship.
The turn “Adelaide” is a simple pin “ stop & go ” in end of the fast straight line with an enormous braking. The circuit of Adelaide also does not form any more part to him of the championship.
