Circles of the naturalists of Belgium

The Cercles of the naturalists of Belgium are a non-profit-making association created in 1957 by Leon Woue (then young teenager) grouping young people and adults interested by the study of nature, its conservation, environmental protection and integrated tourism.

The Circles organize many very diversified activities of formations, discoveries… opened with all in the areas French-speaking person and German-speaking of the country.

The company is recognized by several ministries.

Association counts close to 7  000 members and publishes with their intention a quarterly periodical " the Maple " who announces all the activities amongst other things.

In collaboration with the national Agreement for Protection of nature, the company intervenes regularly in favor of the defense of nature and the environment.

The Circles manage natural reserves in Wallonia and help with the management of natural reserves of associations sisters, they organize excursions through all the parts French-speaking person and German-speaking of the country, of the study trips (flora, fauna, landscapes, areas,…), of the formations of guide-nature, of the training courses and the lessons of nature (for adults in continuing education, the naturalists and the schools)… diversified and opened with all.

In addition to the Marie-Victorin Center to Vierves-on-Viroin, three other centers also organize activities with Brussels, Huy and Longlier.

The company is promotrice, with the assistance of the university Faculté of agronomic Sciences of Gembloux, of the Viroin-Hermeton Natural park.
