Ciprian Porumbescu

Ciprian Porumbescu , born Cyprian Gołęmbiowski the October 14th 1853 in Şipotele Sucevei in the old province of Bucovine and dead the July 6th 1883 with Stupca (Romania), was a Rumanian type-setter .

He studied the music with Suceava and Tchernivtsi. He continued with the Konservatorium für Musik und darstellende Kunst of Vienna, under the direction of Anton Bruckner and Franz Krenn. He was one of the most famous Rumanian type-setters of his time. He was imprisoned by the Austrian authorities for his political activism. He composed the major part of his work in detention. He died in old 29 years with Stupca today famous Ciprian Porumbescu.
