Cinematographic Days of Carthage
The cinematographic Days of Carthage (rear RTL أيامقرطاجالسينمائية) (JCC) is a cinema festival which is held every 2 years (in alternation with the theatrical Journées of Carthage) with Tunis (capital of the Tunisia).
Launched in 1966 by the Tunisian Minister for the culture, Chedli Klibi, this demonstration, first of the kind in the Arab world, has as an main objective to propose the cinema of Africa and the world Arab, to create bridges of dialogs between North and the South and to propose a meeting between Cinéaste S and in love with the cinema of all edges.
Thus Klibi says then: We hope for initially a dialog. A dialog, frankly, lucid, without ulterior motives. But we are sure that such a dialog can lead only to one better reciprocal knowledge between Africans and Europeans, between the Mediterranean of the South and the Mediterranean of Nord.
The official program includes/understands several sections: the official competition and the section panorama which are opened with the Arab and African films, the international section which is opened with recent films and of great artistic quality, a section homage intended for the national cinema or a scenario writer of reputation as well as a workshop of the projects intended to support the development of the projects of African and Arab films by the granting of purses to the scenario and a competitive video section.
