1307 Jean-Aubert Aycelin de Montaigut, abbot of the church of Clermont buys for 3 000 pounds with Jeanne de Beaujeu girl of Humbert, woman of Jean de Dreux, chambrier of France, the seigniory of Châteldon.Une rather curious charter are in the history of the house of Dreux by of Chesne (p. 285) from where it seems to result that Philippe the Beautiful one, as suzerain, agree to ratify this transaction only after one increase in price of 2 000 pounds, which it had certainly to adapt.

1308, his/her brother Gille Aycelin de Montaigu inherits it. Philippe in February 1309 the Beautiful one grants a charter by which “the chasteaux ones of Manor house-Odon and Breuil, which it holds in stronghold of the lord de Bourbon, “sitted are borders of the kingdom towards Lyon”, could be from now on sold and transported only in sovereign hands

1325 Gilles II Aycelin de Montaigut. In 1344 Philippe de Valois (Philippe VI) the establishment of a weekly market with Châteldon authorizes). One also allots to Gilles II the construction of the enclosure of Châteldon in front of the English threat more and more threatening after the Bataille of Crécy. In 1348, the city is struck by the plague, Gilles II orders an expiatory procession: itself was put at the head, barefeet, the cord with the neck, out of shirt, a candle with the hand.

Mineral water of Châteldon
Châteldon is known for its famous naturally gasified mineral Water. It was the first mineral Water exploited in France and transported by bottles at the Court of Louis XIV with Versailles. This water is re-elected for its properties diuretic and digestive, rich in Potassium, Sodium and Fluor, Chateldon is a bicarbonated water. In France, one finds the water of Chateldon in the large hotels and restaurants, at certain cavists and in delicatessen. In 1650, the doctor of the court, some Fagon, praises the virtues of Châteldon near Louis XIV. The sentence remained in the memories: " water of Châteldon will cure your Majesty sometimes, will often relieve it and will always comfort it. "
