Churches of the three councils
The Églises of the three councils form a branch of the big family of the Eastern Églises. They were born from the refusal of the conclusions of the Concile of Chalcédoine in 451; they for that were described a long time as “monophysites”. Today, one rather speaks about doctrines “miaphysite”.
These Churches, in reciprocal communion while remaining independent on the plans liturgical and organisational, constitute the “Eastern orthodoxe Communion together”.
