Church Saint-Jean-Baptist of Broken into leaf

the church of Broken into leaf the (1860) carries the dedication of St Jean Baptiste.

It is distinguished above all by its bell-tower with gallery and pilasters but also by the number and the quality of the crossettes (14) representative either of the animals, or of the characters, inter alia, of the lions, of the dogs, a pig, a kangaroo, a monkey, a bear, an old man and a dragon.

Also let us mention:

  • the splendid retable out of white marble and its statues, carried out in 1866 by Yann Larc' hantec of Morlaix;
  • the pulpit, works of the Derrien workshop of St pol. of Leon;
  • the stained glass of the chorus devoted to St Jean Baptist;
  • the statuary old including one Piéta;
  • a bell (1683) which counts among oldest of évêché of Quimper and Leon.

Among the remaining inscriptions are read the Latin names of Marie, Joseph, Joachim, Anne and Holy Jean Baptiste, like those of Missire Pierre Mevel, vicar and Missire François Mevel… undoubtedly serving them of the church.
