Church Saint-Christophe de Rahling
The church Saint-Christophe de Rahling is located in the Commune Frenchwoman of Rahling and the department of the the Moselle.
History
The Village is old a Paroisse of the archpriest of Bouquenom, last in 1802 in that of Rohrbach-lès-Bitche, with Schmittviller like appendix until in 1837.
Building
The church, dedicated to holy Christophe, is rebuilt first once in 1595, under the Curé Jacques Pistor. From this time, there remains the base of the turn-bell-tower and the stone of foundation deposited.
At the time of one second rebuilding, of 1739 with 1745, the whole of the movable is renewed and the three furnace bridges are ordered with the sculptor Jean Martesteck. Dated 1745 and signed with the reverse of the Retable Iohannes Martesteck. Fecit 1745 , the monumental Retable of the high altar is posed on a furnace bridge 19th century with the poor Décor. The high altar is animated by solid masses of trapezoidal plan consisted Pilastre S placed of Biais and two columns framing a table representative holy Christophe, the owner of the Paroisse. It is accosted by decorated jagged Aileron S of Fleur S of Tournesol letting escape from the Volute S in leaf. The shelter of crowning, with its table of the Holy Trinity, is framed by a whole of Pilastre S contrebutés by Aileron S laid out in range, which spare kinds of niches occupied by Statue of Ange S admirers, holy Jacques and holy Wendelin remade in the current of the 19th century. The Gilding and the forgeries Marble S, exploiting a clear bottom, undoubtedly underline the architectural side of this Retable with imposing dimensions, largest of the Pays of Bitche. ----
