Church Holy-Nun of Dirinon

See also: Holy Nun, Holy Divy, Holy Trinity

the parish church of Dirinon is placed under the protection of holy Nonne, mother of saint Divy, patron saint of the Wales.

In an architectural unit and remarkable sculptor let us note:

  • the bell-tower with galleries gone back to 1588,

  • the porch sheltering the statues of the Apostles and holy a Trinity,
  • old banners of the 17th century,
  • stained glasses of the chorus illustrating the life of holy Nun,
  • paintings on skirting,
  • religious goldsmithery exposed in a window.

On one of the four bells, one can read the following inscription:

" Escuyer of the LOUET, Lord of Lisquivit, parin (godfather) and Rams Mauricette of the LOUET, Dame of Coat-Iunual, marinades (godmother).

Mr. Hierôme GAYEMENT. Priest.

O. EDGE and Anto. (Antoine) CALVEZ.

Fab. 1633. (1655 according to Couffon and Falc' hun).

JAC. The LOUARN has me faicte."

In bottom, close to the name of the founder, his mark appears which is that of a fox crossing a field in flowers. (word LOUARN in Breton language wanting to say FOX!)
