Chryse Planitia

Chryse Planitia is a basin Martian (flat low or Planitia) located by for a surface of approximately 500.000 m ².

Many a valleys is thrown to it: Ares Vallis, Kasei Vallis, Tiu Vallis, Simud Vallis, Shalbatana Vallis, etc

The July 20th 1976, the probe Viking 1 lands into 22.46 NR, 47.95 W by taking the first photographs of the surface of Mars.

The July 4th 1997, the probe Pathfinder was posed not far in the old alluvial plain of Vallis Ares.
