The rebellions of 1837-38 to the Low-Canada is a movement with the political, social, economic roots and identaire. It echoes an international phenomenon of fight for the democracy and against an empire.

  • 1822 - Project of union of two Canadas

  • 1826 - the Canadian left became Patriotic Parti

  • 1832 - Riot following the elections (Tracey business)

  • November 16th 1837 - Emission of mandates of arrest towards the patriotic chiefs

  • 1838 - Creation of the Brothers hunters

  • February 1839 - Publication of the Report/ratio Durham

  • June 1839 - Commuation of capital punishments in sorrows of exile in Australia

  • June 1840 - Adoption by the British Parliament of the Act of Union
