Chronology of the child work
This Chronologie counts the outstanding dates in connection with the Travail of the children and especially of his progressive prohibition.

1801, the United Kingdom: Prohibition of the child work of less than 8 years.
- 1802, the United Kingdom: Factory Act ( Health and Morals off Apprentices Act ) regulating the working time, the night-work and the work conditions of the children.
- 1819, the United Kingdom: The child work of less than 9 years is prohibited.
- 1833 : August 29th, the United Kingdom: Factory Act carrying to 48 hours weekly and 9 to 11 a.m. daily their working time.
- 1840, France: The senator Charles Dupin publishes child work that the workshops, the factories and manufactures employ; Louis Rene Villermé publishes the Tableau of the physical status and moral of the workmen employed in silk and wool, cotton manufactures.
- 1841 : March 21st, France: Adoption of the relative law to the child work employed in manufactures, factories or workshops , giving a minimum age (8 years so more than 20 employees) and limiting the night-work and Sunday.
- 1842 : August 10th, the United Kingdom: A law suggested by Lord Ashley prohibits the child work of less than 10 years in the mines.
- 1844, the United Kingdom: Factory Act increasing to 6 a.m. and half daily working time of the 8-13 years.
- 1847 : June 8th, the United Kingdom: Law limiting to 10 a.m. the day's work of the 13-18 years.
- 1851, France: Law limiting the duration of the work: 10 hours before 14 years, 12 hours from 14 to 16 years.
- 1853 : May 16th, Prussia: Labor regulation of the children carrying the minimum age at 10 years, for 6 a.m. maximum and granting three hours for the school.
- 1867, France: Jules Simon publishes the eight year old Workman
- 1874: May 19th, France: Law on the work of the children and minor girls in industry , limiting employment before 12 years.
- 1877, France: The minimum age is increased to 12 years, the night-work prohibited before 16 years, the maximum number of hours decrease
- 1920: Convention 7 of ILO: Convention on the minimum age (maritime work)
- 1959:
- Convention 112 of ILO: Convention on the minimum age (fishermen) .
