Chronology of the Second Intifada

The the second Intifada or Intifada Al-Aqsa (in Arab إنتفاضةفلسطينيةثاني ) indicates the whole of the events having marked the rising of the Palestinians as from September 2000.

2000

September 27th: first attack with dead Netzarim, 1
September 28th: With Jerusalem, the visit of Ariel Sharon on the Esplanade of the Mosques/Mont of the Temple causes confrontations between Palestinians and Israeli security forces .
September 29th: Beginning of the confrontations
September 30th: Affaire Mohamed Al-Durah
Of the confrontations is held with Nablus on the religious site of the Tombeau of Joseph who is aimed by armed Palestinian militants. 17 of them die. An Israeli soldier is killed. The site is given up by the Israeli army on October 7th. The tomb, the military station and a Yeshiva are ransacked after this withdrawal.
October 7th: Adoption by the Safety advice of UNO of the Resolution 1322 (2000) deploring the provocation of Ariel Sharon, the chief of the Likoud, which had gone the September 28th on the Esplanade of the mosques to Jerusalem and violences which were followed from there as of the following day with the release of the Second Intifada.
October 12th: two Israeli reservists equipped as civilians (Vadim Norzich and Asi Avrahami) enter Ramallah and are stopped by the Palestinian Autorité. According to the Israeli army, their entry in the city is involuntary, while according to the Palestinian police officers, it acted infiltrated and armed soldiers who were done located. Palestinian crowd forces the police station and, helped of certain police officers, lynches the two Israelis before trailing their bodies in the street. The scene of slaughter was filmed by a cameraman Italian and televised. The Israeli air raids of reprisals against the Palestinian Authority followed this event.

2001

February 14th: diversion of a bus with Holon, 8 died and 25 wounded
March 4th: Attack-suicide with Netanya, 3 died and 60 wounded
March 11th: The Israeli army imposes a total blockade of Ramallah by blocking all its accesses by stoppings.
March 14th: Two Palestinians are killed and ten others wounded at the time of clashes with the Israeli army at the time of protest demonstrations against the looping of the territories.
April 22nd: attack-suicide with Kfar Sheba, 1 died and 60 wounded
May 18th: attack-suicide close to Netanya, 5 died and 100 wounded
June 1st: Attack of Dolphinarium to Tel-Aviv outside a discotheque, 21 died and 120 wounded

August 29th: Israel seizes several sectors of Beit Jala, under Palestinian control since 1995 under the terms of the interim agreements of peace of Oslo. The incursion is condemned by the international community.

12 September 13rd: The Israeli army kills ten Palestinians at the time of an incursion into the autonomous locality of Jenin, in the north of the West Bank. The seat of the governorship of the east city destroyed
October 3rd: Tanks penetrate in the north of the town of Gaza. 6 Palestinian killed.

December 12th: bus in the north of the the West Bank, 10 died and 30 attacks wounded
December 24th: Ariel Sharon, prevents Yasser Arafat from going to Bethlehem, to the West Bank, there to celebrate, like each year since 1995, the mass of Christmas.

2002

January 3rd: Seized by the Israeli armed with the boat Karine has transporting 50 tons of weapons.

January 11th: Bulldozers of the Israeli army penetrate in Palestinian autonomous zone and destroy the track of the airport of Gaza
January 19th: The Israeli army destroys the buildings of the radio “the voice of Palestine” in Ramallah, in the West Bank.
January 25th: Fifty-two officers and soldiers reservists announce that they will henceforth refuse to be useful in the Palestinian territories, not to take part in operations of which the goal is “to oppress, to expel, starve and humiliate entire people”.
January 27th: Attack-suicide with wounded Jerusalem, 1 died and 150
January 28th: Avraham Burg, carries Parole of Knesset, denounces the occupation of the territories, affirming that “people of occupants, even if it were brought to occupy (territories) against its will, do not finish being changed and disfigured by the tares of the occupation”.
January 29th: The European Union (UE) means with the Israeli government sound “closes rejection” of the destruction of buildings and Palestinian infrastructures financed by Europeans. The Union estimates temporarily the damage at more than 17 million euros.
February 9th: 10000 pacifist Israelis ravel in Tel Aviv to protest against the occupation of the Palestinian territories and the policy of Ariel Sharon, with the call of a coalition of movements for peace.
February 16th: attack-suicide in the West Bank, 3 died and 30 wounded
February 18th: attack-suicide towards Jerusalem, 1 dead
20 February 21st: The Israeli bombardments and raids, of great width, make 28 deaths Palestinian. The General headquarter of Yasser Arafat and radio Palestinian television in Gaza are destroyed.
March 2nd: attack-suicide with Jerusalem, 11 died and 50 wounded
March 8th: Mahmoud Salah, member of Brigades of the Al-Aqsa martyrs, is stopped in Beth Hanina, a district of Jerusalem-Is, by the Israeli police force. It is cut down later coolness. March 22nd: Assassination of the Sheik Ahmed Yassin by a shooting of Israeli missile .
April 17th: Assassination of Abdel Aziz Al-Rantissi by an Israeli rocket fire .
August 31st: double attack-suicide with Beer-Sheva, 16 died and 100 wounded
September 22nd: attack-suicide with Jerusalem, 2 died and 17 wounded
October 7th: double attack-suicide in the the Sinai, 32 died and 120 wounded

2005

January 18th: attack-suicide with the Gush Katif, 1 died and 8 wounded
February 25th: attack-suicide with Tel-Aviv, 5 died and 50 wounded
July 7th: The Israeli armed forces kill 2 Palestinians of which a child, at the time of an incursion into the refugee camp of Balata, in the east of Nablus.
July 10th: a Palestinian teenager is killed at the time of a peaceful demonstration against the partition wall to Beit-Likya. The young man touched with the chest emptied himself of his blood lengthened one hour before Tsahal does not authorize an ambulance to help it. At the same time, with less than 5 kilometers from there, the Israeli soldiers wounded 18 people in the village of Bil' in, during a demonstration. July 13rd: Tsahal takes again the control of Tulkarem and imposes a looping of the territories. A Palestinian police officer is killed during the operation, second is clinically declared died a few days later.
July 14th: an activist of the Brigades of the Al-Aqsa martyrs is killed with Nablus
July 15th:

Israeli raids on Gaza and in the West Bank which killed at least 6 activists of Hamas
confrontations between the security forces Palestinian and of the members of the Hamas

July 16th:

the Israeli army destroyed a foundry and two workshops in the Gaza Strip, wounding two Palestinian
rocket fires on the Israeli city of Sderot
the Israeli army carried out arrests in the Palestinian territories. She affirms to have stopped 16 fugitive with Hebron, 5 militants of the Islamic Jihad with Bethlehem and 5 members of the Hamas to Nablus.

July 17th

Saïd Seyam, the commander of Hamas with Khan Younis was cut down by the Israeli army.
a mortar shell fired by Palestinian landed on a house of Neveh Dekalim, killing the inhabitants.

July 23rd: a Attack-suicide was thwarted by Tsahal, which stopped 18 years a Palestinian young person who had crossed the border and was on the point of making an attack in the area of Tel-Aviv.
July 24th: shooting in the Gaza Strip, an Israeli is killed and three others wounded.
July 27th: Palestinian 18 years was killed at the time of an Israeli operation with Jenin.
July 28th: a " activiste" Palestinian was killed with Tulkarem.
August 2nd: a missed rocket fire fell down on a house with Gaza killing a Palestinian young child and wounding 9 people.
August 4th: 19 years an Israeli soldier, deserter, opens fire in a bus, close to the Arab village of Shfaram killing 4 people and while wounding more than 20. He was then lapidated by crowd.
August 7th: a young 10 years Israeli boy and an adult were wounded at the time of the attack of their vehicle close to Ateret in the West Bank.
August 17th: an Israeli colonist kills 4 Palestinian per ball in the West Bank.
August 24th:

an orthodoxe Jew is killed by knife in the old city of Jerusalem.
an Israeli raid with Tulkarem makes 5 dead alleged members of the Islamic Jihad.

August 25th: an Israeli police officer is stabbed with Hebron.
August 28th: Attack-suicide at the coach station of Beer-Sheva making forty casualties.
August 29th: two Palestinian was killed with Nablus following the explosion of an old shell.
September 5th: 4 Palestinian died in the explosion of their house with Gaza. According to the Hamas it is about a rocket launched by an Israeli helicopter. Tsahal demented person implied being.
September 7th: Moussa Arafat ex-person in charge of safety was assassinated with Gaza.
September 13rd: a mortar shell coming from the Gaza Strip fell on an Israeli village without making victims.

September 26th: continuation of the shootings of Israeli missiles aiming of the masks of weapons. Mahmoud al-Zahar, one of the chiefs of Hamas, affirms that rocket fires against Israel will be ceased.
September 27th: the exchanges of gunfire continue between Tsahal and the militants of Hamas. The body of Sasson Nuriel was found, it was an Israeli businessman which was removed. Hamas asserts its assassination.
September 29th: 3 Palestinian militants were killed with Jenin. According to Tsahal, these militants had opened fire on the soldiers who retorted.
September 30th: 2 militants of the Brigades of the Al-Aqsa martyrs were killed at the time of an Israeli attack on Nablus
October 2nd: Israel suspends its actions in the Gaza Strip, whereas confrontations between Palestinian and militant police officers of Hamas made 3 died and 47 wounded.
October 3rd: manifestation of the Palestinian police officers against Hamas.
October 5th: Palestinian 18 years was stopped in the West Bank whereas it tried to stab Israeli soldiers.

October 26th: attack-suicide with Hadera, asserted by the Islamic Jihad Palestinian, which claims to answer the assassination of Louaï Saadi. 5 died and about thirty Israeli casualties.
October 27th:

Tsahal draws a Missile against the vehicle from a local leader from brigades Al-Quds of the Islamic Djihad, Shahdi Mohanna, and of its assistant, in the refugee camp of Djebalia, in the north of the Gaza Strip. 7 Palestinian civilians are killed and ten are wounded in the attack.

November 2nd:

November 3rd

13 years a Palestinian teenager was wounded with the head. Tsahal expressed its regrets for this error. November 29th: Palestinian was wounded by the Israeli army, during an exchange of gunfire with Bethlehem.
December 3rd: 15 years a Palestinian young person was killed, whereas it tried to enter to Israel since the Gaza Strip.
December 4th: three Israeli missiles fall down in the Gaza Strip.
December 5th: a Palestinian kamikaze exploded himself with Netanya before a shopping mall. This attack made 5 died and forty casualties.
December 7th: Mahmoud el Arkan, chief of a group of activist was killed by a missile in the Gaza Strip.
December 8th:

3 Palestinian activists of the brigades of the Al Aqsa martyrs were killed at the time of an Israeli air raid in the Gaza Strip.
an Israeli soldier was stabbed with a military roadblock between Jerusalem and Ramallah.

December 9th: the Hamas declares the end of the trève against Israel, observed since March 2005.
December 10th:

Palestinian was cut down in Rafah by shootings coming from an Israeli ship, according to Palestinian doctors.
Islamic Dhijad stated not to want to renew the trève against Israel in 2006.

December 11th: during the arrests of 17 Palestinian in the camp of Balata in the West Bank, 17 years a Palestinian young person was killed by the Israeli army.
December 12th: after rocket fires on the Israeli city of Sderot, the Israeli army drew from the shells on the Gaza Strip.
December 13rd: at the time of an operation of arrest of activist in the West Bank the Israeli army opened fire killing Palestinian and by wounding 25 others.

December 23rd: the Israeli army decided to establish No mans Land in the north of the Gaza Strip. An air seat will be imposed there.
December 26th: Tsahal drew from the mortar shells on grounds of the Gaza Strip, which are suspectés to be used as a basis for rocket fires against Israel.
December 27th:

three rockets exploded in the north of Israel.
