Chronology of the Armenian genocide
- 1878 :
- By the Traité of San Stefano the large European countries mobilize in favor of the Armenian of the Ottoman Empire.
- the Traité of Berlin reconsiders in its article 61 article 16 of the preceding treaty: it belongs from now on to the Othoman capacity to protect the Armenians.
- 1894 - 1896: The massacres hamidiens under the Sultan Abdülhamid II make 300.000 Armenian victims.
- 1908 : The Committee Union and Progress (CUP) (Ittihad) arrives at the capacity.
- 1909 : In April, the massacres of Adana or massacres of Cilicie make 30.000 dead among the Armenian community.
- 1914 :
- July: Mobilization of the Special Organization (OS), under the direction of the Central committee of Union and Progrès.
- November 1st: The Ottoman Empire enters the First World War to the side of the central Powers, Germany and Austria-Hungary.
- 1915 : Armenian genocide:
- January: The 3rd Othoman army of Enver Pasha, overcome with Sarikamish, is avenged on the Armenian population marked for sympathy pro-Russian.
- February: The Armenians incorporated in the army are disarmed and assigned to battalions of work intended to be liquidated.
- April 17th - May: Resistance of the Armenians of Van to Djevdet bey. CUP takes pretext of it to denounce Armenian “treason”.
- April 24th: Arrest, then deportation and finally died of 650 intellectuals, monk, policies and Armenian teachers with Constantinople. This date, appointed for the ceremonies of commemoration, marks the beginning of the Génocide.
- May 30th: The Central committee of the CUP passes a “provisional Law of deportation”. The Armenian population is transferred to foot or more rarely in the train in the desert from Deir ez-Zor. Without food, without water, it is decimated little by little during steps of death.
- September: “Provisional Law of expropriation and confiscation”.
- September 15th: telegram of Talaat Pasha with the prefecture of Alep confirming the order of extermination.
- 1916 : The massacres move towards Ras ul-Ain, Rakka, and the desert of Deir ez-Zor.
- 1918 : The First World War is completed: capitulation of the Ottoman Empire, combined Central Powers.
- November: Escape of the leaders Young person-Turks.
- 1919 : The July 5th, verdict of the lawsuit of the Unionistic with Constantinople, judgment with death in absentia of Talaat Pasha, Enver Pasha, Djemal Pasha and Doctor Mehmed Nazim, principal authors of the genocide.
- 1919 - 1920: Martial Turkish courses judge the executors of the massacres as well as intermediate civils servant.
- 1920:
- August 10th: The Traité of Sevres recognizes in articles 88 to 93 of its section VI the Armenian République and mentions in an article that the Othoman government recognizes with the allied powers the right of continues the judgment of the persons in charge of the genocide.
- Formation of the Turkish nationalist movement of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
- 1921 - 1922: assassinations of former ministers and unpunished members of Ittihad remained by the Armenian revolutionary Federation
- 1921:
- the March 15th, directing it young person-Turk Talaat Pasha is assassinated with Berlin. Its murderer Soghomon Tehlirian, survivor of the genocide, are discharged the June 3rd at the conclusion of the Tehlirian lawsuit, held with Berlin which is transformed into lawsuit of Talaat Pasha and the genocidary ones. Production on this occasion of the Andonian documents, published the previous year.
- March 16th: Treaty of Moscow
- October 13rd: Treaty of Kars delimiting the territory of the Soviet socialist republic of Arménie.
- 1923 : Treaty of Lausanne calling into question the Treated of Sevres: the name of the Arménie in is absent.
