Chronology of Yvelines
This chronology of Yvelines counts all the events which marked the current territory of the Yvelines as well before since its creation in 1968.
Origins at the 17th century
-
March 856: at the time of a raid of the Norman on Paris, battles of Croissy which ends in the massacre of the local population.
- 1087 : William the Conqueror, besieges the Mantes-the-Pretty town of , puts it at bag and burns it. Seriously wounded, he dies a few days later with Rouen, the September 9th 1087.
- 1110: Louis VI then concedes at the Mantes-the-Pretty town of the free statute of Commune by a charter which grants privileges to him.
- 1204 : foundation of the abbey of Port-Royal-of-Fields.
- April 25th 1214: birth of the king holy Louis with Poissy.
- July 14th 1223: died of the king Philippe-Auguste with Mantes-the-Pretty.
- March 31st 1519: birth of the king Henri II with the Castle of Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer.
- March 31st 1547: died of the king François I {{er}} with the Castle of Rambouillet.
- July 10th 1547: duel with the Castle of Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer between the baron de Jarnac and the lord of the Chestnut grove during which the first put the second out of combat while carrying a blow of reverse to him at the bulge, known under the name of “Blow of Jarnac”
17th century
- March 29th 1632: signature of the treated Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer between France and England which returns the Nouvelle France (Quebec) to France.
- April 8th 1632: the king Louis XIII acquires the totality of the seigniory of Versailles.
- September 5th 1638: birth of the king Louis XIV with Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer.
- May 6th 1682: installation of the Court of Louis XIV with the Castle of Versailles.
- 1684 : completion of the Gallery of the Ices of the Castle of Versailles.
- June 16th 1684: startup of the Machine of Marly.
18th century
- 1710 : the king Louis XIV makes earlier shave the buildings of the abbey of Port-Royal-of-Fields, removed two years by a bubble of the pope Clément XI.
- September 1st 1715: died of Louis XIV in Versailles.
- September 19th 1783, first flight of a Montgolfier inhabited with Versailles. The nacelle in wicker transports a sheep, a cock and a duck.
- October 12th 1786: arrival with the sheep-fold of Rambouillet of the first herd of merino.
- January 4th 1788: first meeting of the municipal body of Versailles created by an ordinance of the king Louis XVI of November 18th, 1787.
- May 5th 1789: opening of the general states in the room of the Menu-Pleasures to Versailles
- June 20th 1789: the deputies of the Tiers state vote the Serment of the Play of palm to Versailles.
- March 4th 1790: creation of the department of Seine-et-Oise whose chief town is fixed at Versailles.
- September 9th 1792: massacres of prisoners in Versailles
19th century
- January 3rd 1805: visit with Versailles of the pope Pie VII come with Paris for the sacring from the emperor Napoleon I {{er}}.
- July 1st 1815: Battle of Rocquencourt.
- June 24th 1826: creation of the agronomic royal Institution of Oil cake in the Castle of Oil cake, placed at the disposal by the king Charles X.
- June 10th 1837, the king Louis-Philippe inaugurates the historical galleries of the Château of Versailles transformed into Musée.
- August 24th 1837: the queen Marie-Amélie inaugurates the railway line of Paris to Pecq.
- May 12th 1867: inauguration by Napoleon III of the Museum of the National antiquities in the Castle of Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer.
- September 18th 1870: the Prussian troops enter to Versailles.
- January 18th 1871: proclamation of the German Empire in the Gallery of the Ices.
- March 18th 1871: the French government is transferred to Versailles. It will remain there until 1879.
- December 16th 1873: foundation of the national school of horticulture.
- November 11th 1876: startup of the network of the Trams of Versailles
- October 14th 1897: Clément Ader carries out a flight of 300 meters with its Plane III on the plate of Satory.
- April 29th 1899: the Jamais Satisfies, vehicle automobile electric, crosses the course of 100 km/h in the plain of Achères.
20th century
- August 30th 1900: startup of the rail link between Pleasure-Oil cake and Épône-Wall.
- January 1910: a centennial rising of the the Seine causes floods which affect many bordering communes.
- June 28th 1919: signature of the Treated of Versailles in the Gallery of the Ices of the Castle of Versailles.
- September 10th 1919: signature of the treated Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer between the allies and the Austria
- June 4th 1920: signature with the Large Trianon of the Treated of Trianon between the allies and the Hungary
- February 25th 1921: execution of Landru to Versailles.
- 1930 : the first congress of Nudisme is held in the complex Physiopolis created two years earlier in the island of Platais with the Villennes-on-Seine.
- June 13rd 1932: inauguration of the Museum Lambinet with Versailles.
- November 30th 1934: the aviatrice Helene Boucher kills with the orders out of its plane “ Rafale ” Caudron in end out of track out of the Aérodrome out of Guyancourt, in the commune of the Canopy.
- June 14th 1940: the German troops occupy Versailles.
- March 3rd 1942: bombardment of the city of Pecq by RAF (47 dead).
- June 24th 1944: important bombardments combined on the town of Versailles (324 civilian victims).
- August 24th 1944: meet with Rambouillet general de Gaulle and general Leclerc with Rambouillet. The 2 {{E}} dB receives the order to enter Paris the following day.
- August 25th 1944: release of Versailles and Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer.
- October 2nd 1952: creation of the Factory Renault de Flins.
- March 3rd 1957: closing of the network of the Trams of Versailles, replaced by buses.
- June 7th 1962: execution of Claude Piegts and Albert Dovecar with the Extremely of Hole-in Enfer (Marly-the-King).
Since the creation of the department
- July 10th 1964: adoption of the law n° 64-707 bearing reorganization of the Paris region.
- February 25th 1965: designation (decree) of Versailles like chief town of the department.
- January 1st 1968: official of the department of the Yvelines and entered creation according to the general advice.
- November 4th 1969: opening of the Shopping mall Parly II.
- November 29th 1969: the communes of Toussus-the-Noble Châteaufort and are attached to the department of Yvelines.
- October 21st 1970: creation of the public corporation of installation of Saint-Quentin-in-Yvelines.
- of the 15 with the November 17th 1975, top of the G6 to the Castle of Rambouillet.
- 1976 : foundation with Versailles of the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the landscape, attached until 1995 to the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of horticulture.
- October 8th 1978: the ayatollah Khomeini exiles himself with Neauphle-the-Castle where it remained until February 1st, 1979.
- of the 4 with the June 8th 1982, top of the G7 to the Castle of Versailles.
- December 1985: creation of the Regional natural park of the high valley of Chevreuse.
- June 8th 1991: two died with the Valley Lined with Mantes-the-Pretty during confrontations between “young people” and the police force including one police run up against by a car and a killed young person whereas it forced a stopping. These dramas make following one week of riots at the end of May.
- 1995 : creation of the Regional natural park of French Vexin.
- 1995 : the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of horticulture is transferred from Versailles to Angers.
- 1996 : startup of the highway A14 between Defense and Orgeval.
- May 27th 1999: signature of the Agreement of Rambouillet for the peace and the autonomy of Kosovo to the Castle of Rambouillet.
- December 12th 2004: reopening of a section of the line of Large Western belt.
- November 4th 2005: set fire to of a bus depot with Trappes destroying 52 vehicles. The wave of violence of the suburbs touches also Mantes-the-Pretty, Mureaux, Poissy, Chanteloup-the-Vines and Sartrouville.
- February 19th 2007: the Parlement meets in Congrès with Versailles to adopt three Loi S Constitution nelles relating to the reform of the penal statute of the Head of the State, the constitutional prohibition of the Capital punishment and the freezing of the electorate in New Caledonia.
