This article is a chronology of events which occurred in France under the Fifth Republic (1958 until now).

- June 1st: nomination of De Gaulle at the station of President of the council, called by president Coty.
- June 2nd: vote full powerss with De Gaulle
- September 28th: approval of the constitution of the Fifth Republic by referendum (82,06% of the votes cast).
- October 2nd: independence of the Guinea
- October 4th: promulgation of the results of the referendum. The Fourth Republic ends and the Fifth Republic replaces it the following day.
- November 23rd: first turn of the legislative elections
- November 30th: second round. Victoire of UNR and moderate the
- December 21st: election of Charles de Gaulle to the mandate of president of the Republic, the only one of this mode has not to be unrolled with the universal direct suffrage.
