Chronic of the black years (original Title: in The Years off Rice and Salt ) is a Uchronie of Kim Stanley Robinson, published in 2002.
Short summary of the history
This Uchronie describes through character recurring what could be the history of the world if the plague had éradiqué the near total of Europeans. The date of divergence between reality and the uchronie is fixed at 1347 at the beginning of the epidemic of Black Death.Through the destinies of three main characters, members of same a Jāti , and their successive reincarnations, Kim Stanley Robinson tells us a history of the world where the China, the India and the Islam fight to conquer the capacity, to impose their faith and to develop sciences.
