Chronicle of Paste
The Chronique of Paste is a chronicle of the city is African of Pate, town of Culture swahilie. She tells the swarming of the refugees of Oman and the foundation of the city at the 18th century. She also tells the recasting of the city by the family members Omani Nabahani in 1204. The chronicle describes the commercial relations and cultural between the cities of the east coast of Africa and the competitions between Lamou and Pate, Pate there being described like most important of the cities of the 14th century.
The Chronicle is allotted to Muhammad bin Fumo 'Umar Nabahani (known also under the name of Bwana Kitini) a close relation of the reigning family of Paste. There are several versions in various dialects Swahili S. It were translated and published the first time in 1908. It is used relatively little by the historians and some like Neville Chittick, by confronting the chronicle with the archaeological data, suppose that the chronology which is exposed there is false and that the foundation of the town of Paste is actually more recent.
