Christophe of Bavaria
Christophe of Bavaria (1416 - 1448). King of Denmark under the name of Christophe III in 1440, of Sweden on October 4th 1440 and of Norway in 1442. He is founding member of the Ordre of the Dragon.
Christophe of Bavaria born the February 26th 1416, wire of Jean of Wittelsbach count of Palatinat Neumarkt died in 1443 and of Catherine de Poméranie died in 1426 was the nephew of the king of the Union of Kalmar Eric de Poméranie After the depositions of his uncle of the thrones of the three kingdoms, he was successively elected king by the States of the three countries. In Sweden after the regency of Karl Knutsson Bonde the Council of the Kingdom had the real capacity. He tentat however to be opposed to inclinations of independence of the nobility but died suddenly in Helsingborg the January 6th 1448 without leaving of heir to his union in 1445 with Dorothée de Brandebourg-Kulmbach (1430 - 1495) (girl of the margrave Jean IV of Brandebourg-Külmbach).
