Christophe Delmotte
Christophe Delmotte is a Franco-Belgian player born on June 9th, 1969 with Comines.
It begins in Lens at the time of the season 91-92 where it registers 2 goals in 15 matches.
After 2 seasons spent to the Racing Club of Lens, he plays successively Sporting Club Sedan the Ardennes then with the Sports association of Cannes Football (lent)
He will return in Lens for 2 years before being transferred to the Olympique Lyonese where it will remain during 7 brilliant seasons.
At the end of the season 2003-2004 and wounds with repetition, of which a fracture of the malleolus vis-a-vis the OGC Nice which will see it leaving the ground while going (!!!), that which one calls Toph' Delmotte leaves to the Stade Rheims in the 2nd Division where it evolves/moves at the station of defender.
Delmotte will remain a myth for its incomparable mental qualities, this atypical player with the imposing gauge (1,88 meters for 88 kilos) which however played postpones side left or left winger, whereas the players of corridor are in general smaller. But Delmotte thus compensated for its technical gaps by its power, and also by an exceptional top speed and its endurance except standard, quality which however in general does not go hand in hand with the large gauges (for the anecdote, Delmotte beat all its Lyons fellow-members at the time of the training courses of présaison with Tignes with the physical exercises, which it is in sprint, race of long distances, VTT…). But these are well the mental qualities which made an unforgettable player of it: thus, Delmotte took only 3 or 4 yellow paperboards during its career, whereas on the ground, nobody wanted some as much as him! Exceptional fact, because the players of temperament, like Roy Keane, Gennaro Gattuso or Cyril Rool, are often informed players. Moreover, its mental incredible enabled him to mark decisive goals in the stops of play, him which forever be a striker: all the Lyoneses remember his rageuse head plongente against Saint-Etienne with Gerland which offers the victory in the stops of play (season 1999-2000). One will also remember a match with Gerland where he literally ridiculed Ronaldinho which was tractor drawn on 40 meters lamentably aggripé with the shirt of Delmotte which he could not prevent from centering.
Even if it did not mark the history of football, Christophe Delmotte surely became, on the mental level, one of the largest players than football saw.
In 2006, Christophe Delmotte ends up returning to Lyon to finish his career of footballer in the club of the ACE Saint-Priest.
He currently passes his diplomas for the occupation of trainer for a station in the staff of the Olympique Lyonese. The President of OL, Jean-Michel Aulas, does one of his priorities of them, with in particular Sony Anderson.
