Christophe Darbellay

Christophe Darbellay , born the March 7th 1971 with Martigny (Were worth), is a politician Suisse pertaining to the Parti Christian-Democrat (PDC). He is the president of the PDC since the September 2nd 2006. He lives with the Graters, on the commune of Martigny-Combe.

Biography

After a socio-economic maturity with Sion, it obtains a diploma with the federal Polytechnic school of Zurich in agronomy. He becomes director of the Association of the French groupings and organizations of agriculture in 1997. In 1999, it is presented for a seat to the Conseil of the States under the label of the Christian-social party. The May 17th 2000, it is proposed by the radical Pascal Couchepin at the Federal council which appoints it sub-manager of the federal Office of agriculture, function which it gives up at the time of his election at the Parliament.

In 2003 it is elected with the national council like PDC and either like Christian-social. The September 2nd 2006, it was elected with the presidency of the PDC to replace Doris Leuthard elected with the Federal council on June 14th, 2006.

He is Member of the Commission of finances, the Commission of foreign policy and the delegation in charge of the relationship with the French Parliament.

In addition to his political mandates, Christophe Darbellay is also director of the Société of the Swiss veterinary surgeons, president of the Swiss Association of the tastes and soils, president of the International institute of the rights of the child, president de Robert Gilliard SA wines and vice-president of Ecotri SA
