Christl Cranz

Christl Cranz , born the 1 {{er}}   July 1914 with Brussels and deceased the September 28th 2004 with Oberstaufen, is a alpine skier German.

Biography

Christl Cranz gained the first Olympic title of the history of the Alpine skiing in 1936 with Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

With twelve championships of the world and three medals of money gained between 1934 and 1939, it remains more titrated skier of the history of the Alpine skiing. During this period, it was unconquered out of compound.

After her sporting career, the skier founded with her husband, Adolf Borchers, a school of Ski which it directed until in 1987. Until recently, it still banked up the skis. She also wrote several books on the training of the ski.

Its health declined after an accident in the home, little before its 90e birthday, which she had celebrated in Steibis, with her family and some friends.
