Christine Ockrent

Christine Ockrent is a Belgian Journaliste born with Brussels on April 24th, 1944. It was, in France, the second woman (after Helene Vida) to present the Tv news 20  hours.

Biography

Girl of diplomat, Christine Ockrent follows the courses of the Institut of political studies of Paris and the diploma in 1965 from it obtains (section international relations). It launches out consequently in a career of journalist for American television. She collaborates in the famous magazine of CBS, 60 Minutes .
De return in France, it integrates the drafting of Europe 1 and is seen entrusting the load of the newspapers of the morning. Then in October 1981, it is engaged by the new president of Antenne 2 Pierre Desgraupes which indicates it to present the 20 hour old tv news in alternation with Patrick Poivre d' Arvor. It is the first woman to regularly present a 20 hour old tv news in France. It is maintained until June 1985 there before joining TF1 of which it becomes assistant editor (1987). When it finds the presentation of the 20 hour old newspaper of Antenna 2 in September 1988, a polemic bursts in connection with its wages. It directed the drafting of the weekly magazine the Express train . Since 1990, it presents magazines on FR3 become France 3 meanwhile. It in particular was with the head of the political emissions Sunday evening then France Europe Express . It starts in 2007 a new political emission entitled Duel on the 3 on bottom of polemic with the section SNJ of the chain concerning its bonds with Bernard Kouchner, his companion in the life recently appointed Foreign Minister. In addition, it is the author of a discussed biography of the journalist Francoise Giroud. She is finally member of the advisory committee of the Think tank Center for European Reform, administrator of IFRI and the International Crisis Group and old member of the and board of directors of the Institut Aspen France RSF. At the time of the 30e birthday of the French-American Foundation, it was member of the committee of honor. It is also member of a program of this foundation. It is finally one of the five journalists with Caroline de Camaret, Quentin Dickinson, Guillaume Klossa and Jean Quatremer to be appeared in the committee of honor of the 50e birthday of the the Treaty of Rome.

She is chief of the direction of IMSV which launched BfmBiz.com in August 2001.

With Bernard Kouchner, his companion, it had a son, Alexandre, was born on March 11th, 1986.

The May 23rd 2007, it announces that it will cease animating, at the end of June, the political emission France Europe Express on France 3 and that it will be devoted to another political emission, Sunday evening, in second part of evening. This change does not have anything to see, according to the remarks of the journalist, with the nomination of his/her companion Bernard Kouchner with the Quay of Orsay and would be explained more by the exhaustion of the concept of France Europe Express , the emission having celebrated its 10 years this year, a record in this field.

The August 29th 2007, France 3 announces that Christine Ockrent will present a new emission Sunday evening, starting from the September 23rd. Baptized Duel on the 3 , this emission proposes a “debate” opposing two guests on the political news, economic or sociétale.

Distinctions

Christine Ockrent was promoted with the rank of officer of the Légion of honor on July 14th, 2007. She was named by royal decree of April 27th, 2007, Officier about Léopold.
