Christina Anyanwu

Christina Anyanwu is a journalist native of Niger born in 1951.

Editor association of the newspaper The Sunday Magazine (Lagos, Nigeria), it is stopped in May 1995 following the publication of an article on a Coup d'etat missed against the government. Condemned at the time of a lawsuit to door-close by a military tribunal at the life imprisonment in July 1995, its sorrow is reduced to 15 years in October 1995. Imprisoned under execrable conditions, it contracts the Malaria and loses its left eye.

In May 1998, it receives the world Prix of freedom of the press decreed by UNESCO, and is released in June of the same year.
