Christian Winther
Rasmus Villads Christian Ferdinand Winther (born on July 29th, 1796 - deceased on December 30th, 1876), was a lyric poet Danish.
Born in Fensmark close to Næstved, where his/her father was cleaned Lutheran, it enters to the Université of Copenhagen in 1815 when it studies theology, obtaining its diploma in 1824. It starts to publish worms in 1819, but no collection appears before 1828. During this time, between 1824 to 1830, Winther its life gains by giving lessons, with as well success as in 1830 it is in a position to travel to Italy on its economies. In 1835 the second volume of lyric poems appears and in 1838 a third. In 1841 King Christian VIII of Denmark chooses it to go in Mecklenburg in order to learn Danish with the Mariane princess, at the time of his engagement to the Crown prince to Denmark. He had exceeded around fifty when he Maria.
Other collections of lyric parts appeared in 1842,1848,1850,1853,1865 and 1872. In 1851, after during most of its life being badgered by the debts, it accepted a government pension as a poet during the following quarter century it resided especially at Paris.
In addition to the nine or ten volumes of lyric worms mentioned above, Winther published Hjortens Flugt ( Flight of the Stag ), a novel epic towards (1855). Located in the South of Zealand of the 15th century, written in imitated stanzas of the Nibelungen and probably inspired by the Mazeppa of Byron, this work evokes the young loves, the diabolic forces and sorcery with a stag running which reappears to symbolize the forces remained wild of Nature. However in lyric intervals he also sings the idylles and the freedom of Nature. In the generations this book became a traditional gift of confirmation for young Danish people competing under this report/ratio with Adam Homo of Paludan-Müller.
Many shorter poems of Winther became popular and were put in music, for example “Flyv fugl, flyv” - (“Flies, bird, flies”) and some of the poems of its collection Til Een , 1842, ( For somebody ) a homage to his wife. Another traditional is the small humorous poem epic intended for the children: “Flugten til Amerika” (1830), (Translated into English: “The Flight to America”, 1976). It is necessary moreover to mention In the Year of grace , a novel (1874); and other work in prose. He died in Paris, but its body was brought back to Denmark and he was buried in the middle of wood.
As in love with the Woman and Nature Winther is perhaps one of the Danish authors who represents the design most narrowly that one is made of the romantic poet. Many recent Danish lyric works with more or less of happiness took as a starting point its worms. Its aptitude particular to make accompany the action by the elegant Nature and homages, and for their rather sensual time, which it returned to the women represented something again. By the Flight of the Stag , its principal work, it acquired the nickname of “Cantor of Zealand”.
