Christian Streiff

Christian Streiff , born the September 21st 1954 with Sarrebourg (the Moselle), is a French personality of the business world. Since the February 6th, 2007, he is the chairman of PSA Peugeot Citroen.

Course

Christian Streiff is graduate 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the Mines of Paris.

Christian Streiff began his career into 1979 within the company Saint-Gobain. He occupied several functions near his various industrial and technological entities, energy of the automobile foundry to glass fiber and conditioning, while passing by ceramics and plastics.

After having occupied various management positions general in Germany (works manager of the branch drain to Halbergerhütte…), in Italy and France,

Thus, in 1989, he is managing director of Vetrotex, German subsidiary company specialized in the manufacture of glass fiber; then in 1991 managing director of Vetri, Italian subsidiary company specialized in packing.

It rectified Canalisations division in 1997 (ex- Pont-à-Mousson S.A), before directing, of 2001 to 2003, the pole Matériaux High efficiency based in Paris and Boston (the USA).

Christian Streiff was then delegated general director of the multinational group Saint-Gobain. Because of strategic divergences with number 1 Jean-Louis Beffa, it leaves the group the May 4th 2005.

In July 2006, Christian Streiff was named member of the Executive committee of EADS and executive President (CEO) of Airbus. Running up against the French governments and German to set up his recovery package, he resigns on October 9th, in full movements related to the problems of production of the A380, and is replaced by Louis Gallois.

February 6th, 2007, Christian Streiff is named President of the Directory of the automobile group PSA Peugeot Citroen, succeeding Jean-Martin Folz.

He is in addition member of the Board of trustees of Thyssen Krupp AG, Continental AG, and Prysmian SpA (Italy).
