Christian Sautter

Christian Sautter , born the April 9th 1940 with Autun, is a Politician French, member of the Socialist party.

Biography

Graduate of the Polytechnic school, the Institute of political studies of Paris and of ENSAE, it becomes in 1965 Administrateur of INSEE.

With the election of François Mitterrand, in 1981, it is named assistant general secretary of the Elysium. In 1990, it is named prefect of the Île-de-France and Paris. When Jacques Chirac is elected president, in 1995, it joined the General inspection of finances and approaches Lionel Jospin.

When this last is named Prime Minister, in 1997, Christian Sautter is named Secretary of State to the Budget under the authority of Dominique Strauss-Kahn. When this last resigns in November 1999, it succeeds to him like Minister for the Economy, Finances and Industry. He seeks to set up a reform of the ministry for Finances envisaged by his predecessor and who is worth a Grève to him civils servant placed under his authority. It is replaced three months later by Laurent Fabius.

When he is elected mayor of Paris in 2001, Bertrand Delanoë names it assistant, in charge with Economic development and Finances.

He is also President of association Active France which supports insertion by the economic one in France since 1988.

He is widowed and has two children.
