Christian Prigent (born in 1945 with Saint-Brieuc) is an author of poetries, fictions and a literary critic French. Readily protestor, agitator, ironic, he hustles the forms, and delivers, in his work, a combat with the language, against " the speech faux".

Biography

the writer

He is arts doctor, author of a thesis on Francis Ponge. After stays with Rome (1978-1980) and with Berlin (1985-1991), he lives and works in the area of the Mans. In its work it refers to Jacques Lacan, Jacques Derrida, Julia Kristeva, Arthur Rimbaud, Francis Ponge or Denis Roche, to which it devoted a test ( Denis Roche , 1977). It founds with the beginning of the year 1970, the review TXT, however it collaborates in many other reviews in France and abroad, and publishes, primarily at P.O.L, of the works of poetry or literary criticism. In 1993, with Écrit with the knife he intends “to remove poetry from all that is not primarily poetry”; through carnal violence, it finds “poetry when it is requirement to find a language”. Since 1980, it regularly gives public readings of its work. In his critical work, Christian Prigent wonders much about the authors considered to be difficult and subversive.

the essay writer

The literary work of creation of Christian Prigent was accompanied by a writing and deliberation by tests as well on the Littérature as on the Peinture. The critical approach of Christian Prigent will determine for a great part the literary avant-gardes of the end of the 20th century in France. Posing, in connection with a reading of Jacques Lacan that the literature is an experiment of negativity, it thinks of the literary experiments which translate this negativity.

Indeed, for him, the literature must clash with reality, but reality, according to Lacan, it is where the language breaks. The literature is then this experiment of the impossible one: to say reality, whereas it is impossible to seize. The literature will be then given by Christian Prigent like a place of Aporie, of tension which has as a consequence of extreme literary forms, which one finds perfectly starting from the title of one of his first tests: the language and its monsters .

the reviews

Near to the " Textualistes ", of the review Such as it is, it founds with Jean-Luc Steinmetz, the review TXT, of which he quickly becomes the leader and principal stimulating until 1993. The review is accompanied, as from 1977, of a collection which publishes works of Valère Novarina, of Vélimir Khlebnikov, of Philippe Muray, Jean-Pierre Verheggen or Christian Prigent itself.

In 1981, in Residence with the Médicis Villa in Rome, it meets Mathias Pérez, with whom it will found in 1996, the Fusées review, which, such as states it Fabrice Thumerel in the literary field at the 20th century , will not preach the rupture as it was the case with TXT, but which will return on the heritage of the literary and artistic avant-gardes, while continuing the exploration of the new tracks of writing, through the literary new generations, with for example Charles Pennequin, Fabrice Bothereau, Sylvain Courtoux.
