Christian Olivier

Christian Olivier is a singer, guitarist, accordionist, lyric writer, type-setter and graphic designer French born in 1964. He is founding member of the Pig-headeds and the Peeled Chats .

Biography

Christian Olivier is born in 1964 with the Mali, where his/her parents work. At eight years, it settles in France, in the the Essonne. In 1984, it assembles the group Red Ted with his brother Pascal Olivier (known as “Cali”) and Gregoire Simon (known as “Iso”). The group becomes the Pig-headeds in 1987.

The texts of Christian Olivier are impregnated of Brassens, of Brel, Prévert, Desnos… Poésies in turn sharp ( Iditenté ), naive ( the Radishes , the Nun ), surrealist ( the Theater of the fish ), funny ( the Mice , What one is made shit! ) and especially impressed tenderness and of despair mixed ( the Animals , Saint-Vincent , Sold (E) with the devil , I sing , Without title ), Christian Olivier cultivates the difference as well in the writing as in the music.

The group takes again in particular songs and poems of other artists with much of success: Poor Martin of Georges Brassens, the Old men of Jacques Brel, the Love falls from naked the of Robert Desnos, Hexagone of Renaud or I would not like to burst Boris Vian.

With the peeled Cats (to which Benoît Morel belongbelonged, the singer of Twisted the ), it carries out all the small pockets of the Pig-headeds and Tordue. Their creations are omnipresent in the spectacles of the Pig-headeds (in particular in Bouffes North in 2002 and 2003).
