Christian Jacq

Christian Jacq , born with Paris on April 28th 1947, is a writer French alive in Suisse.

Parallel to his career of academic in Archeology and Egyptology, Christian Jacq publishes historical novels, whose framework is located in the ancient Egypt, but also of the “contemporary” detective novels, for which it makes use of the pseudonyms J.B. Livingstone and Christopher Carter .

Biography

Christian Jacq would have been caught of passion for the old Egypt as of the thirteen years age the three volume, upon reading of the History of the age of old Egypt of Jacques Pirenne.

Married very young person, its honeymoon naturally leads it in Egypt with his young wife, on the site of the antique Memphis. Its first test, naturally devoted to Egypt, appears as of the end of the year 1960, while it launches out in studies of archeology and Egyptology, which will be crowned by a doctorate of 3rd cycle in Sorbonne.

It will be a collaborator time of the radio France Culture, coproduisant for example certain emissions of the series the Ways of knowledge .

In parallel, it is during a few years, director of the Ramsès Institute, which publishes transcriptions of Egyptian texts and aims to the construction of funds photographic on Egypt.

In addition to its tests devoted to Egypt, but also to some less known fields (heraldic, gnosis), it carries out a parallel career of author of detective novels (under two pseudonyms) then of author of historical novels (under its true name).
