Biography

Christian Ier d' Oldenbourg succeeded his father in 1143, it was the first count of Oldenbourg. After the death of Egilmar II the territories were divided between the two brothers: Henri Ier d' Oldenbourg accepted Wildeshausen and founded the line of Wildeshausen of the House of Oldenbourg, Christian Ier controlled Oldenbourg.

Although in several acts, Christian Ier d' Oldenbourg declared vassal Henri the Lion, it was despite everything his adversary of 1166 with 1167. Genealogy

Christian Ier d' Oldenbourg belongs to the first branch of the Maison of Oldenbourg. This line gave kings to the Denmark, with the Norway, it died out in 1863 with the death of Frederic VII of Denmark.
