Christian Fouchet

Christian Fouchet is a politician and diplomatic French, born the November 17th 1911 with Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer (Yvelines), it is deceased the August 11th 1974 with Geneva.

Bachelor of law and graduate of studies of political economy, it rejoins free France since 1940. Embassy secretary in Moscow, delegated in Poland then to the Indies. Ambassador in Denmark of 1958 to 1962, he is president of the committee charged to study the project of European political Union of the Six States of the EEC (" Plane Fouchet ") who will not succeed.

He adheres to the RPF which he represents with the National Assembly of 1951 to 1955 like deputy of the Seine. He accompanies de Gaulle at the time of his voyage in Tunisia. From June 10th, 1954 to February 5th, 1955, he is minister in charge for the Moroccan and Tunisian businesses in the government of Pierre Mendès France from June 17th, 1954 to February 23rd, 1955. March 19th 1962 with the July 3rd 1962, it is named Haut-commissaire in French Algérie then deputy secretary near the first minister in charge for the Information of the September 11th 1962 with the November 28th 1962, it is Minister for State education from November 28th, 1962 to April 1st, 1967, then Interior from April 6th, 1967 to May 31st, 1968 in the governments of Georges Pompidou.

Elected official appointed UD-Ve Republic of Meurthe-et-Moselle in 1967, then UDR in 1968 and UDR in 1973.
