Christian Death

Christian Death is a group of Death Rock founded in 1979, on the west coast American, by the singer, poet, writer and type-setter Rozz Williams.

Although not very known in France, the group knew there its quarter of hour of glory thanks to the label the Invitation With the Suicide , created with Rouen by Yann Farcy.

The major album remains Only Theater off Bread , left in 1982. One finds there, inter alia black pearls, marked by the Californian post-punk current, the tube Romeo' S distress . Will follow Catastrophe Ballet and the " ep" Deathwish corresponding to the falls of studio of Only Theater off Bread . Tension, dark energy, pain and poetry parnassienne… as many outstanding features of this trilogy founder of an American Gothic movement being born.

Thereafter, Rozz will decide to leave the group, Valor then taking again the name… and of course the singer and clavierist Gitane DeMone. The first album of the " nouveau" Christian Death, left in 1986, will mark the spirits: Atrocities , like this open-heart operation illustrating the jacket, light blafarde operating room suite on an inevitable black bottom. The album will follow: Sex & Drugs & Jesus Christ in 1988, who starts to lose themselves in the easy provocations and the heavy fronts of guitar straight come from the Hard-rock planet. Rozz on its side, after having again used the name of Christian Death , somewhat dividing the fans into two, is illustrated in several projects, of which more than sizeable Shadow' S Project , accompanied by Eva O, his/her partner since the beginnings of the Californian adventure. It is the occasion for him to return to the sources, like illustrates it its resumption of the Holy Holy of David Bowie. After various mystical experiments, Rozz is insulated and will end up committing suicide in 1998, not leaving any letter to explain its gesture. The Christian Death of Valor always seems to be in activity, foaming the scene of the more or less satanic rock'n'roll.
