Chris Vermeulen , born the June 19th 1982 with Brisbane, is a pilot of Speed motor bike Australia N.

Biography

Thanks to the former world champion Barry Sheene who is used to him as mentor, it joined the championship of the Supersport world. In 2003, become pilot number one of its TEAM, it gains four victories and becomes world champion of the speciality.

For the season 2004, its TEAM Ten Kate signs with Honda to evolve/move in the championship of the Superbike world. It there gains four races and carries out even a moment the championship, finishing finally in the 4th place, only pilot placed in the eight first not controlling a Ducati.

It finishes the following season in the second place, behind its compatriot Troy Corser. The same season, in order to satisfy its principal sponsor Japan Tobacco , it takes part with Honda in the 8 hours of Suzuka. At the end of the season, it also makes its beginnings of category MotoGP, with the TEAM Pons.

However, the proposal of Honda for the following season does not satisfy it: a springtide in Superbike before joining in 2007 the queen category of the MotoGP. It thus joined Suzuki. It obtains its first pole at the time of the Grand Prix of Turkey before renewing this exploit with Laguna Seca.
