Chris Martin (born the March 2nd 1977 in the Devon) is a singer and British pianist , member of the group Coldplay.

Youth

Wire of a banking father and a teaching mother, Chris is impassioned very young person for the music, and more especially for the guitar.

Moved by its admiration for Bob Dylan, it integrates its first group into the 14 years age. Before entering with the FAC and finding the future members of Coldplay, Chris will play in various groups: The Rockin' Honkies, The Red Rooster Boogie Band and Pectoralz.

It made various collaborations, in particular with Ron Sexsmith on the song Gold in them hills , Jamelia ( See it in has Boy' S Eyes ), Faultline, The Streets, Ian McCulloch and Nelly Furtado ( All Good Things )

At the time, its musical influences are Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Neil Young and Flaming Lips.

Sensitivity

Chris Martin supports the countryside " Make Trade Fair " of Oxfam. The countryside aims to sensitize the consumers on the inequality of the North-South trade, and on the work conditions of the producers. It also wore the Tee-shirt of the countryside during all its public appearances.

Coldplay

Its group Coldplay decided to transfer 10% of the incomes generated by the sale of its album " With Rush Off Blood To The Head" at various charity associations. Chris Martin is constant in this cause by other artists, Thom Yorke of Radiohead, Bono, Michael Stipe, Alanis Morissette, Youssou Dour, Jamelia, and the actors Antonio Banderas, Colin Firth, Minnie Driver who engage in favor of the countryside for the equitable trade. To mark their support, the artists took part in a photo session, putting themselves in scene with products emblematic - rice, corn, coffee… -, and did each one a short declaration to explain the reasons of their support for the countryside.

Personal life

The December 5th 2003, Chris Martin married the actress Gwyneth Paltrow of which it has a girl, Apple and since very recently a son, Moses. the couple shares its time between London and New York.
