Chissey-in-Morvan

Chissey-in-Morvan is a common French, located in the department of Saône-et-Loire and the area Burgundy.

Geography

This village, at the border of Départementde Saône-et-Loire, between Nievre and Côte of Gold, Chissey in Morvan is built in the valley of Ternin, which the brook of Blanot comes to enlarge, is located in the Natural park of Morvan.

  • Château of Chissey-in-Morvan
  • the church is dedicated to Saint Martin, bishop of Tours. The chorus and the vault, only arched, are XIIe century. The nave, rebuilt in 1755, was overcome by a bell-tower in shingles. But 100 years later, the faithful ones had to open their umbrellas during the offices. The church was restored in 1898. The bell-tower, previously in the middle of the nave, was rebuilt with the top of the porch of entry. The arrow of the old bell-tower was preserved, at the request of the inhabitants.
  • One also finds old the Roman Voie there which went from Autun to Sens.
