The Chinese New year is the object of annual emissions of postage stamps by several postal administrations and of a collection of Philatélie set of themes near the collectors.

HongKong is the first country to have emitted in the years 1960 a stamp for the lunar new year. It is followed several other Asian countries , océanien and circumference of the Pacific Ocean which counts members of the Chinese Diaspora and which wishes to propose subjects with the mode among philatelists, to certain European countries.

In addition, in a specific way and by aiming at the collectors, of the countries could emit series of twelve stamps representing the Chinese astrological signs.
