The Chinese is a kitchen utensil.
It is a fine Passoire, generally Conique, used in particular for to pass (i.e. to filter) the Sauce S. One distinguishes traditional Chinese from Chinese cheesecloth , made up of a Tamis. Its name probably comes from its form which evokes the traditional hat Chinese.
