Chimbote

Chimbote is a seaport located at 420 km of Lima in Peru, which is located at the extreme north of the Région of Ancash. The city occupies the territory of the districts of Chimbote and Chimbote Nuevo. The district of Chimbote is the capital of the Province of Santa.

The port of Chimbote was classified in the Seventies like 1st of the world by its volume and its movements.
En 1835, when the Général Santa Cruz recognized it officially, the village counted only 800 inhabitants.
En 1900, this figure went up at 1400 and in 1970, it was the demographic explosion with 170.000 people.
En 1943, the liver of the fish bonito was the gold of the port. After, arrived the boom of the Anchois which amorça migrations of the populations of all the country, increased by the crisis of the agriculture of the areas of Ancash, Cajamarca and Libertad.
