Chigasaki (茅ヶ崎市, Chigasaki-shi ) is a city (市, shi ) of the Préfecture of Kanagawa, with the Japan. The city was founded the October 1947.

The population of the city was in 2003 of 228.470 inhabitants for a surface of 35.71 km ² (2005).

Chigasaki is known for its beach on the Pacific Ocean, capital Japanese woman of surfing and the water sports. It is in particular in this city that the first store of surfing was open to the Japan.

The municipal symbols are the Acacia, the Rhododendron and the coal Mésange.
