Chief of brigade

Chef of brigade was a military Grade, equivalent with Colonel under the French revolution.

He was created at the same time, 1793, that the unit which it ordered the Half-brigade which it replaced the Régiment. Two names disappeared right before the advent from the Empire, in 1803, where one returned to old designations.
