Chick\' N Swell
Chick' N Swell are a group of humorists Québécois formed in 1990 with Victoriaville. It is composed of Daniel Grenier, Francis Cloutier, Simon-Olivier Fecteau and now Ghyslain Dufresne.
Devoting itself to absurd humor, they created many memorable characters, like Goldoche, Bobby Baudoin or Potomax.
In 1995, Francis Nailsmith and Daniel Grenier enter to the National school of Humor.
They launched their first spectacle under the banner of the Festival Juste to laugh in 1999. Heading At the borders of the absurdity , it is put in scene by Stephan E. Roy, ex-member of the Bizarroides.
Of 2001 with 2003, they write, realize and play in an emission with sketches which bears their name (presented on television French of Radio-Canada). In spite of a limited budget (probably more the small budget of all times for a series diffused at hour for great listening in Radio-Canada), they succeeded in being acclaimed by a great number of admirors. The three seasons of the series are now offered in DVD.
In 2005, they launched a disc of sketches and songs titrated Victo Power , joining together certain produced extracts when they animated a radio program with CKOI.
Daniel Grenier, Francis Nailsmith and Ghyslain Dufresne, former member of Cramp in Mass, will be in spectacle a little everywhere around Quebec in 2007.
Curiosities
- a restorer of Victoriaville (Den-Lou) added to its menu the poutine Chick' N Swell , made chips, of sauce, cheese and Rosbif.
- the first sketches of the series were turned in the apartment which Francis Cloutier and Simon-Olivier Fecteau occupied, with Montreal. But turning with due moved because of the complaints of the other tenants.
- the majority of the external sketches proceed in Victoriaville. Several admirors make a kind of pilgrimage with Victoriaville to be made photograph at the same places as the characters of the emission.
- Their first true spectacle under the name Chick' N Swell was held in Timbered Poyvalente (bond towards general-purpose the Wooded one) on June 6th, 1990 with Victoriaville. The purpose of the spectacle was to pile up funds to treat to a limousine to go to their ball of finishing. The original group was made of 4 members: Robin Aubert, Francis Nailsmith, Daniel Grenier and Marc Perreault. Although Simon-Olivier Fecteau studied there at this time, it then did not form part of the team: it was rather in the auditorium as the 523 other pupils who discovered this group.
