Chibougamau

Chibougamau is a city of the Quebec (Canada), located in the administrative area of the North-of-Quebec. It counts approximately 8000 inhabitants and is the largest nonindigenous city of North-of-Quebec.

The origin of the toponym " Chibougamau" is still discussed. The Indian word contains the roots shout “shabo” (with through) and “gamaw” (lake), so that Chibougamau would mean: crossed lake of edge in edge by a river. Tourism

On the external scene, one can hear nearly 75 artists of the area in addition to seeing professional spectacles there (the sizeable ones, the botines smiling, Hugo Lapointe, Jonas, Annie Brocoli, Despiced Icon, Revolution Before). Within the framework of the festival, one day for the young people, a spectacle pyromusical, a tournament of volley ball and more still!
