Origin
It has been an old, known race for more than 2000 years. Bovines of big sizes are indeed quoted in its current area by Pline, and it is generally considered that they are the ancestors of the chianina. It is originating in the center of the Italy: Latium, Tuscan.
Morphology
The dress is white at the two sexes. One admits in the males some gray nuances on the posterior train. The calves are wheat (fair) up to six months. The Muqueuse S are black. The horn S are short and coarse, and have the black point.
C' is the greatest race of bovine servant of the world.
The cow makes 150 to 160 centimetre with the garrot, and weighs 800-1 000 kilograms, whereas the bull measures 160 to 175 centimetre, and weighs: 1150 with: 1280 kilograms. The cows of more than 160 centimetres and the bulls of more than 180 centimetres are not rare, and of the extremes are referred to 190 cm. The record in weight was obtained in 1955 by the Donetto bull, which weighed 1.740 kilograms then.
Aptitudes
Ce' St a race bouchère in the past of feature. It provides a tender meat which made the fame of the steak to the florentine (bistecca went fiorentina).
C' is a rustic race, resistant to the diseases, the parasites and the bad weather. It is able to develop poor pastures. It has a good longevity but is not very early.
