Chişinău
Chişinău (in Russian Кишинёв transcribed Kichinev or Kichiniov ), is a city, capital of the République of Moldavie.
Geographical location: northern latitude 47°21' and longitude 28°50' Are.
Based in 1436 by prince de Moldavie Iliaş on Right Bank of the Bîcu river (in Russian Byk ), affluent of Nistru (in Russian Dniestr ), it is today more the big city of the country with 752 000 inhabitants (2002). It is an industrial and tertiary center (insurances, trade) important which has an international airport.
The city is located on 7 hills and extends on 120 km ². It is crossed by the rivers Bîk and Isnovat. It is currently managed by Dorin Chirtoacă.
