Chevetogne
Chevetogne (in Walloon Tchevetogne ) is a section of the Belgian city of Ciney located in Walloon region in the Province of Namur.
It was a commune with whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977.
It is famous for its Monastère Benedictine, the Abbaye of Chevetogne, created in 1925 by dom Lambert Beauduin with Amay and which was established in Chevetogne in 1939. It is devoted to the prayer for the unit of the Christians, divided since centuries into various Churches. It is characterized, in particular by the simultaneous celebration, in two churches, Latin rite and Byzantine rite, of the daily liturgical offices.
There exists also a provincial field with Chevetogne.
