Chetumal

Chetumal is a city of the Mexico, capital of the State of the Quintana Roo in the peninsula of the Yucatán, which counts 130.000 inhabitants.

History

It is an old Maya port . After its destruction by a hurricane, the city was completely rebuilt and studied by town planners. The museo of will cultura Maya is very well conceived to include/understand the Maya world by its traditions, its beliefs, its lifestyle. This city marks the border with the Belize.

Tourism

Every weekend, the inhabitants of the close Belize come dévaliser the markets from Chetumal, because in the Belize, the life is much more expensive than in Mexico.
