Chester Arthur Arnold

Chester Arthur Arnold is a American Botaniste , born the June 25th 1901 with Leeton in the Missouri and died in 1977.
He is the son of Elmer Arnold and Edith born Funderburg. He obtains his Bachelor off Sciences with the Université of Cornell in 1924, his doctorate in 1929. He starts to work with the faculty of botany of the university of the Michigan starting from 1928 and becomes preserving collection of fossil plants in 1929. It Marie with Jean Davidson the August 30th 1933, union of which he will have three children.
Arnold becomes professor in 1947. It maintains close relationships to Indian research : it is corresponding member of the institute of paleobotany Birbal Sahni. He is also member many learned societies. He is in particular the author of the Introduction to Paleobotany (1947). Arnold made of many research on the paleozoic, Mesozoic flora and of the Tertiary sector of the North America.
