Chemy
Chemy is a common French, located in the department of the Northern (59) and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais. The village has a sports hall, a media library and an elementary school.
Its inhabitants is called Chemynois.
Geography
The village is located in the plain at the south of Lille, near to the traditional way of communication between Arras and Tournai. It is traditionally entirely turned towards agriculture, in spite of the proximity of the agglomerations of Lens and Lille.

Personalities related to the commune
Jacobs d' Hailly, gentleman inhabitant of Lille, XVII/XVIIIe century. Hailly was an important seigniory located at the limit of the parish with Gondecourt.
